Aromatouch Technique

What is it?

The dōTERRA ArōmaTouch Technique is a clinical approach to applying essential oils along energy meridians and visceral contact points of the back and feet to help balance sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems of the body. Developed by Dr. David Hill, a leading expert in integrative medicine and therapeutic applications of essential oils, the ArōmaTouch Technique improves well-being by reducing physical and emotional stressors and by supporting healthy autonomic function. The technique is simple and intuitive and uses dōTERRA CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils for an unparalleled grounding experience

The ArōmaTouch Technique includes four primary steps designed to minimize systematic stressors to autonomic balance. Each step includes the application of two essential oils or essential oil blends specifically formulated to support healthy emotional and physiological functions for well-being. The technique requires 40 minutes per application, and multiple applications can be serviced with one set of dōTERRA essential oils.

Why Aroma?

Many of our likes or dislikes of different smells come from the experiences we attach to them. There is convincing evidence that pleasant aromas can improve our mood and sense of well-being. Each essential oil in the AromaTouch Technique was selected for its individual aromatic properties, and for their powerful aromatic properties when combined. The overall scent of the AromaTouch Technique is soothing, light, and pleasant to the senses.

Why Touch?

Whether it is a hand shake or a hug, all physical touch holds different meanings. Even when sharing essential oils, there is a difference between rubbing the oils on someone’s forearm and taking the time to really affect their overall well-being through the AromaTouch Technique. Physical touch is as important as the aroma because of its amazing healing benefits. While the main purpose of the technique is to apply the oils and provide the recipient with an essential oil experience, it is also about connecting with another person on an emotional level. The connections developed through the AromaTouch Technique form feelings of trust and help the recipient relax.

Who needs this?

If you are overworked, stressed, exhausted or tired, this calming, nurturing and balancing treatment is just the ticket.

What happens during a treatment?

During the session, you'll need to take off any clothing from the waist upwards and remove any socks. You will lay on the treatment table facing downwards.  I will cover you with a light blanket.  Primarily I work on your back, neck and head area. So if you have long hair, I will ask you remove any hair ties/scrunchies.  The majority of the session focus on your back, before I move to your feet.  I will end the session by returning to your back area.

My final step will be to pull your feet and legs gently, to help realign and ground you.
It will take a few moments for you to become present.  I will give you a few minutes to wake up and get dressed before I share with you any intuitive insightsI received during the session.

Each of the 16 protocols focuses on a specific system and/or area of the body allowing for the targeting of the symptoms and underlying causes of many ailments and illnesses.

16 Protocols are:

2. Cardiovascular

3. Cellular

4. Chi

5. Digestive

6. Emobic (Emotional- Limbic)

7. Forgiveness

8. Hormone Balance

9. Infectious Disease

10. Inflammatory

11. Lymphatic

12. Maxim

13. Neurological

14. Osteo

15. Respiratory

16. Solar

The process involves layering the oils in a particular order on your back, upper neck and soles of feet.  Where possible, sometimes creating a hot compress (using a hot towel) to drive in the oils.  For some of the protocols, we advise you to have a bath.

I can teach you how to apply these oils on yourself too.

By on large, I add these to end of your Reiki healing treatment to really give the healing a boost.

Note, you may experience a reaction afterwards or some hours later.  This is positive, because it means toxicity is moving itself out of your system.  Always contact me if this happens and I can give you some strategies on how to manage.
